Our school caters for students from Prep to Year 6. Teachers co-teach to enable personalised learning for all students that targets their next steps in learning.
We teach the Australian Curriculum in English, maths, science, humanities and social sciences, technology, health and physical education and the arts. All students also take part in our Languages program studying Japanese with a visiting specialist teacher.
Lessons are designed to meet the learning needs of all students. Wherever possible, practical and hands-on activities are embedded within units to ensure learning is purposeful and applicable to students lives.
A well structured teaching, learning and assessment cycle ensures students receive a quality education. A differentiated curriculum is offered to cater for all students' learning needs, including students with giftedness and students with learning disabilities. Students are well supported by two teachers, three teacher-aides and two visiting specialist teachers.
At Coowonga State School, students are able to access a variety of resources to assist and extend their learning. Students have individual access to a wide array of digital technologies that enhance learning across all areas and enable students to work collaboratively to solve complex challenges.
